Lempani Mafata Moh

Born in Lesotho Lempani was a herd boy when growing up. He made his first drum at age 6, his first guitar at 9, and is a talented composer, arranger, musician, playwright, actor and martial artist. His cousin played penny-whistles; and the traditional music and work songs of the Basotho throughout the “Mountain Kingdom” helped set his mind in music. He writes, arranges, performs and teaches music.

Since he has been in Toronto, Lempani has worked with several musician/bands such as Shaza, Jungle Bouti Orchestra, Africa Night, Tikisa, Wayne Cass Quartet, Kalimba Kalimba, his own band MALOTTI and several gospel choir groups in Toronto.
Prior to moving to Canada, Lempani performed with many artists in Lesotho, South Africa and United States. Lempani’s musical versatility is one of the strongest virtues.

Lempani performed at AfroFest in 2000.
