Pat Thomas

Pat Thomas has undoubtedly been one of the leading artists from Ghana for about a generation. Born in Agona, in the Ashanti region of Ghana, he polished his singing act during a eight year association with the Takoradi Broadway Dance Band with whom he recorded his debut his single, “Menye Wo Bowu” (We will die together) in 1968. In that year he was crowned Highlife King bye the Arts Council of Ghana and his royal status has followed him to Canada. In both countries many also know him as “The Golden Voice”.

Pat has had many hit releases in his career. Backing him up are the multi-talented Nakupenda whose Emmanuel Quaye has also just finished a CD entitled “Yere Su Frewo”.

Pat Thomas performed at AfroFest in 1989 and 1998.
